I have a Marantz SR7011 in for a digital board (aka HDMI board) replacement. The service manual calls for an offline firmware update using a firmware package presumably only provided to authorized service centers. The new board works fine, except for any of the networking features. I'm guessing this firmware update is meant to address that.. probably something to do with MAC addresses.
The file name is in the format "avr_40.prod.update.factory.xxxx.zip"
Any chance someone here has an idea of a) how to get this file, or b) a workaround?
The new board isn't allowing me to do a factory firmware reset-- it simply boots up like normal when I do the key dance (dynamic EQ + dimmer + power) for it. I tried doing a network reset (back + enter while online music input selected), but that just seems to hang. So I think this offline firmware update is required.
My last resort idea is to hook up the old board and run a tcpdump on my router to get the request it's sending to Marantz. With any luck it might be the files I need, but I'm not counting on it. If it's over a secure connection, then it's a moot point.

Did you try doing a user initialization (hold "game + info" buttons then press power) or network initialization (after power on and input source set to online music, press and hold "back + enter" buttons) ?
