Thanks, yes it's the shipping cost that usually kills it for me, especially if it turns out to be one of the other transistors. When it becomes uneconomic to repair, I usually scrap it for parts, for future repairs. Anyway I'll see what I can do and post back later on. Thanks.

Thanks, yes it's the shipping cost that usually kills it for me, especially if it turns out to be one of the other transistors. When it becomes uneconomic to repair, I usually scrap it for parts, for future repairs. Anyway I'll see what I can do and post back later on. Thanks. No problem! If it helps, I have all of these parts (all brand new) and could put together a "care package". At least that way you can be assured that you have a complete set. Below is a list of the transistors in that circuit along with the cost I paid for each part:
2SC2713-B -$0.31 x2 = $0.62 2SC2412-K - $0.20 x2 = $0.40 INA6006AP1 β cross references to CXT5401 - $1.13 INC6006AP1 β cross references to CXT5551 - $0.58 2SA1037AK $0.27 TTA004B - $5.79 TTC004B - $5.07
The "TT" transistors are a little pricey so if you wanted me to throw those in, the grand total would be: $13.86(US$). If you want just the others, the $3.00 won't kill me so you would only be on the hook for the shipping.
I don't work on these systems much anymore. My last project was to populate an NR676 board to work as an RZ820 (successfully). It is a long story why I went this route but the key point is that I have a ton of parts but don't really play with this hobby much anymore so I am happy to help.
Regards, Todd

I'm happy that you(Tod) are still around. We need your expertise around here. I kind of swayed away from repairs myself too, but I'm still around and I still have an 810 with cracked mainboard(amp).

Todd, sorry about the late response, I've been away for a few days. That's a very kind offer, thank you. Unfortunately, I'd already ordered the parts and some QuickChip so just waiting for everything to arrive now - there appear to be some significant delays in international shipping to NZ so don't know how long this will take. I'll post back with results, hopefully positive, once I've received the parts and done the work. In the meantime, on to the next project - a couple of nice CD players that are just crying out for restoration.
Thanks for all the help here,
Jon.

Success!
After a very long delay I've finally received the replacement smd transistors and got round to very carefully desoldering all of the old ones and soldering in the new ones. A bit of a laborious task, but the result is well worth the effort. Happy to report that the receiver now works fine with no hiss on any channel, sounds lovely!
