you mentioned you are using older drivers. what version of the software are you using? old or new? or is there only one version of the mosaic program?

nvidia dropped analogue with the gtx 1080 reference card. they've joined the post analogue revolution...
i am considering a blend currently. if i do, i would choose any one of them later model quadro's listed (used). i have seen some quadro's that have dual dvi-i output. i was thinking of using a dual dvi-i to two dvi-i plugs. then two dvi-i to bnc plugs. then run them straight into the 909's. is this what you're doing Julian?

hello, happy new year. i have recently been looking at nvidia mosaic and came across this pdf. images.nvidia.com/content/quadro/product-literature/user-guides/NVMosaic-UG.pdf < if you scroll to section "System Requirements" and look at table 1.2, theres a column on the right that lists "Mosaic with sync-capability". does your soft modded gtx card actually have this sync feature? on page one of that pdf, i quote "Note: Installations that require Mosaic Technology with multi-projector or stereoscopic 3D functionality must use Mosaic with synccapable GPUs for proper operation." i may be off track here and i only want to help... keen to see this working!

ah, this must be why theyre held in place by the silicon. you've all mentioned things that can be very easily over looked when trouble shooting. i couldnt for the life of me find that! there is so much knowledge here amongst all members...! and all at a hobbyist level too. i just took a photo of the boards at the same distance. you are right, the cine 9 controller has them yellow parts that are not on the 909 controller. ^ 909 controller ^ cine 9 controller out of these two boards, which is the higher revision board? what would be considered a better board? 909 or cine 9? the cine 9 was made in 2003. the 909 was made in 2007. but, the 909 was in service up until about 2012?

okay. not really worth documenting at all! there has been no modifications to any of my spare 909 controllers under side of the board that i can see.
these modifications must have been done by barco in house? or by the field service technicians?

hello all, while trying to work out why my pc won't connect to any of my projectors via the serial port, i had the 909 and cine 9 trays side by side for a looksee. i have attached some photos of two separate findings. i figured if it wasnt already identified that it may well be worth documenting. i also would like to become more of a hardware guy (currently more of a software guy) and replace capacitors on all my boards one day. on the 909 controller i found this modification to the factory board (not sure what this is?): ^ the 909's i have were maintained for some time by a barco technician(s). this modification is not present on my cine 9 controller. on the cine 9 controller i found these two modifications to the factory board (yellow wire and two resistors): ^ the cine 9 was poorly maintained. it's got 3000 hours on it. looks like its got all original parts fitted. these two modifications are not present on my 909 controllers. are the modifications to the cine 9 controller for the SEMU board i have? regards, justin.

thanks for the replies.
the projector works now and before trying to connect to it via the rs232. so nothing damaged yet...
i have a desktop computer with bare bones windows xp installed (only use it for my cnc machine - so no bloatware installed. almost a fresh installation of windows in fact. its not even connected to the internet.) and an onboard rs232/parallel port board.
a transistor short! that does not sound good at all. what does a shorted transistor look like? singed?

alright... i turned the projector on and the projector address is 1.
i pinched a jumper plug thing from a spare optical drive i had laying around and fit it to w3 next to the lattice chip as suggested.
turned the pc on and fired up the barco program to find i still have the same issue.
i checked in the device manager that the rs232 is actually working and it all appears fine.
i checked the settings in the device manager for the rs232 board and theyre all default and exactly the same as the barco program.
baud rate is 9600.
i have the correct projector address: 1.
the cable is female to female but has a male to male adapter plug on the end.
the barco program says connected, but the red cross is still there.
i am not sure where to turn now? thanks in advance

I havent mentioned this before but when i was editing and looking through the cine221.bin file i noticed there was mention of "CINE_8", "SEOS PRODAS" amongst other interesting things a single line of code above "CINE_9" and "BR_909"...
your findings of the different addresses sounds right because my assumption of how the board would fetch and display this data is a matter of changing these addresses where the text is stored in the file.

thank you all for the advice, this is such a great forum.
i am too flaked to try this right now. i will have another go tomorrow with the above advice. i only just finished carefully refitting my 909 panels i picked up from the panel shop down the road. i had them spray the cases black! they look absolutely magic!
i also just sent you an email dummyload with the purpose written bit shifting program i only just finished and compiled for you. give it a go... let me know what you think? it should do the trick.
regards,
justin.

that was it...! i had the file on my desktop in a folder called "barco". i simply moved it to "c:\barco" and it now works. this is poor... but thank you gjaky! for your prompt replies and advice. i hope that i would have eventually worked it out, but we'll never know... when i clicked upload, it failed to "acknowledge". 909's got power and switch is on, but not actually powered on (not displaying anything.) i looked in the diagnostics tab and all voltages are at 0v. i am starting to think my understanding of "standby" is incorrect? EDIT: hmmm... under the diagnostics tab theres a list and you can choose "present" or "history". "present" has a red cross next to it. but the program says down the bottom that it's connected...?
