Hello all, Based on this thread on this very forum I made a video where I attempt to diagnose and repair my own Onkyo 3007 receiver which was suffering of the infamous "NO SOUND" issue. The Admin has asked me to create a dedicated thread! Thanks everybody for your help, it was a fun journey - and as a plus the 3007 still works (fingers crossed!) Comments are very welcome!

Excellent video. I tend avoid the BGA ones but I have just replaced the QFP DSP with ePad On a SCLX86. Will post some pics.
Another idea I had with these receivers with excellent amps was looking at a way of bypassing the DSP, surely there must be a way the I2C signals can be patched to bypass the DSP.

Once I have used one with a bluetooth adapter, and it worked great as an outdoor amp when barbequing.

madmal Those chips are hideous but 1000 better than BGA! I doubt the DSP can be bypassed, I'd imagine it has a critical role in sound delivery. It's a shame no definite solution has ever come up for those receivers. There must be a box full of those ICs somewhere on this planet!

When you would really search for a permanent repair you would find it on eBay… There is a company that offer such repair with a upgrade DSP for these Onkyo Amp‘s and that’s worldwide!
