Here is the source file vs MP. Colors are pretty irelevant, just try look at the detail level missing, the massive black clipping, and heavy enhancement in the MP shot, the screen cap will look as good as the monitor your evaluatin it on, i cant say what color that is, and it simply do not matter, as for sure there is no capturing the exact right colors with a camera.. Why do Mikes pictures look lik VHS tape and a compleetly messed up calibration clipping like crazy.  
And ill very much doubt they had crome helmets in those days, so ill expect it to be a polished metal helmet, and it could have whatever color the surrounding enviroment reflects on it, like a mirror, so sand color would be a good bet. |

Thanks for posting that. My mind is still set on MP shots are as they should look. But with black crush around the Eyes as you taught me where to look. But other than that, I like his a hell of a lot more than what the director intended. No question about that.
I'll have the Movie by tomorrow with the extended and remastred edition, bluray of course, tell me where in the Movie the helmet-thing takes Place. I will first look at it, then take a screen cap of it if you tell what commands to press. I only know how print screen works and that is not the same I assume.

Proxy, that's funny! I liked that! Good one!  No, we are in no conntact at all, its been a while since we talked. It all died down once he was almost banned from CurtPalme and from there on it was clear that no one would ever get such a thing called "a free upgrade" not even me from then on. But I was never into it anyways and told Kurt this on more than one occasion that that ship has sailed. With delevery time being what they are, long usually, and me being not the bloody picky so I am good with stock or his mods, but we are not in talks to fight it out with you guys, no Sir. Here's a thought I got. If you happen to have a bluray which has cars in them with a front/back bumper in CHROME take the usuall screen cap + regular screenshot and I promise you it will still have that odd bronze thing going on! Don't you have some of The Fast and the Furious? Them should be flodded with chrome bumpers don't you think. That would be fun to see because I know I am right. Cheers! |

Btw, MP helmet screenie has a sting of a tad much blue wich makes the gravel a Little unusal looking as well, but not far from perfect. No, these 20/20 eye vision are the belongings of a Swede who knows what the hell is talking about! |

No matter what color it is, it will be as the director intendet when they produced and mastered the movie.. The source file will be the reference.. No matter if you like the color or not.. Now adjusting colors by eye to get your crome bumper to look the bluish way you like it for each movie would be a nightmare, and then the next movie or scene you dont like the grass, and you adjust for that.. Yhere is a reason there is standards to folow. You can do what you like, but please dont aply MP logic to it here, as MP logic is not logical at all. Now what reference monitor do you use to evaluate colors, and how is it calibrated.? |

It's an old HP 2335 1200p monitor, and Think it produces White the way White should look like. Which means all Three colors must be Close to be right. So when I see something that I know should look White I know it will, and when I see something that is off to me it wont. I have asked the Norway-guy to help me out, even though he is on your side saying screen caps really should look like that, bronze. I asked him about getting me a chrome bumper, as we all know how they should look like, so any screen caps of them being anything else but chrome is full of shit.

What i know is that it seems like you suffer from the same disorder MP is. You can not eyeball white D6500, and a crome bumper is not a reference of anything.. Its like telling me you want your dark chocolade to taste like mint, now what will the mint taste like? The standards can not acount for your odd preferences and taste, and me posting a pic of a crome bumper will do little as your so used to the heavy blue push, and somehow convinced yourself that its the way things have to look like. And on top of that the camera will do its own to mess with the white balance. So no your monitor can not be used to evaluate colors, your guessing and speculating, i seriously think you should go visite MP, the 2 of you would be a perfect match and totaly agree that the movies are all wrong, and your put in this world to correct it. |

Seriously, Ulf you need to get this simple point through your head- the source file is THE REFERENCE; what the director intended and is not open to your subjective musings. If you can't get on board with that concept your going to either get laughed off of any forum or banned outright.
