Thanks for writting that up, i simply have not had the time since ive been preparing for new job etc...
I found even with the working controller i could not connect without the jumper on W3. While i dont see it as an unsafe take, you and i have proven that, im still not suggesting others do it to controllers allready sporting Cine 9 software unless youve got a good reason.
There is however a decent advantage to putting the Cine 9 software on a controller currently having 909 or 919 software, as that will fix the fan speeds back to a much quieter setting, which for me still occured when using my 909 tray, no fan boards present.
Other than a temp readout in the menu, i cant really tell for sure exactly what else those boards do, and the CineMAX is only fitted with one in the front tray anyway, there isnt one in the rear of the set.

Yes, the fan noise advantage is the reason i dit it too. Other than that, let's call it "myth busting". A lot of people were affraid of even thinking about messing with soft. upgrading on Cine 9 ( and we all know why ). Let us be the pioneers who dare taking risks and open new perspectives for others too. Regarding the second fan-board on the back: it was implemented in the later development of CineMax/Cine 9. It seems a later revision of the SMPS is needed too, in order for that to work. More about that in the "performance modifications" thread, when i will have the time. Good luck with your new job Case, i hope it was a conscious choice not because you was fired.

Hello Domenico, I still don't think that your problem is controller related. You have HV and it comes light out of your tubes, so i suspect ( just like others ) a problem in the video chain. Did you tried the spareboards from your friend already ? I would flash the controller after each board is swapped with other good-working ones, if i was you.

It's worth a try. You could check some of those voltages if it connects.

Yes, it's a good idea to do that. Once connection is established, click on "Projector diagnostic" tab instead of "Flash programming". Choose "Present" from the left-side and you'll have all the voltages there. Remember that those voltages are a bit different while projector is in standby, versus on. Also a good thing to do is to choose "Hystory" under diagnostics and you see a log of last four projector faults, and where the fault has occured. A lot things are microprocessor controlled there, so it could be a bad controller but also a bad board ( while showing the same fault on diagnostics ). That's why, when possible, swapping with good working boards will exclude the controller as faulty. Here how voltages and faults history looks like :
