Censorship on Curt's

Looks like CMJohnson has been permanently banned at Curt's now. The forum only has the few regulars and that's it.

Politics have ruined so many marriages and families already, not a surprise it does the same on professional forums. I'd ban any political discussions on my forum (if I'd have one ) as it builds barrier between people who otherwise share the same hobby, so in the end it shades the professional nature of the hobby forum.

I would not be surprised if they are saving posts on members on other forums also for future abuse. If fact it has already been shown on there. It must really suck to be that paranoid, lol. That group is getting so small it is only a matter of time before they get bored and start arguing among themselves.

Actually, when I read how they gang up and abuse some of the other members who have a different opinion then theirs it makes me want to throw up. It is just disgusting. Makes me glad I am of no part of it.

This forum was built with this mostly in mind and the other place was falling apart and becoming abusive. If you are still posting there to help others you should just direct them over here since most of the people who actually know anything about electronics and CRT are here now, including you. They would get much better assistance and more specific information rather then just, "send me your boards".

I see Curt Palme still remember me. Aparently it really upset him that i called him out on his scams and poor buisness moral.
Would be fun if he had balls to put his opinion out so it would be possible to add some documentation to his self generated frustrations.

Yes and this is what i did over there, but by sending PMs. 

The "send me your boards" thing was horse shit. 

The selling of questionably reliable used items was and probably still is horse shit.

Ron, you may remember back a few years ago a guy i helped with an 8" Barco that was from here in Australia. He had a Cine 8 he bought from another guy here in Australia that had never used it ( apparently ), Curt sold it to that guy, new tubes had been fitted by Curt and "tested". 

That set would NEVER have worked properly, because it had the wrong tubes fitted to it. They were electrically the same as correct ones, but shorter in the neck, hence, the focus coils were not able to work correctly. 

I remember discussing this with you before i gave him the advice to cut the front section off the yokes and allow them to be moved further toward the bell, which fixed his problem well enough that he could get adequate focus, albeit with center focus still as low as 34, when it should be aimed at 57. Moving the yoke toward the neckboard results in a lower electronic center focus number, and moving toward the bell gives a higher number. 

Now it could be believed that Curt didnt know this set would never correctly focus with those tubes, because his form of testing was quite likely turn the set on with a source and run for 12hrs, no setup bothered with.

That instance was the deal killer for me, because testing should be done PROPERLY, not half arsed. The only issue with that set was the wrong tubes being fitted. 

From then on, i never did much more than send PMs telling people to come here so we could help them properly.

The amount of times i had posts removed because id given people some honest help was rediculous, i got emails from both Curt and Kal about that asking me not to post such information as it would mean these people would not need to send boards to Curt for testing.
