Removed a bunch of components and it still powers on when I plug it in, then shuts down. Confirmed Bad and Removed: ZD5404 ZD5405 Q5401 Q5402 Q5403 R5418 R5410 - read 8.59K R5405 - still reads 1185 Ohm R5420 - OL R5422 - OL
Removed but not confirmed bad: R5419/R5421 - both read 0.6 Ohm R5415/R5416 - confirmed good but it was easier to remove and should be replaced.
Sorta frustrating that it's still shutting down, guess it's time to check more things?

It is probably still shutting down because D5403 and D5402 are allowing some voltage through. Remove either one of those and see if it stays on.

Read that last statement too quickly, and removed both D5403 and D5402....still shutting down.

Well here is where we are at.
It is possible that with so many parts removed there is still some unbalanced voltage on the output line. Replacing parts may solve it. Or there may still be some bad parts. So we could continue testing to see if we find something or wait until parts are replaced. Of course a bad part still in there cold take out some new parts. So, what would you like to do?

Both? lol.
While I order parts, could we test a bit more?

Alrighty then,lol.
Go to the SMPS board and locate relay RY601. Determine which 2 pin are for the contacts. Should be the same pins that C601 are attached to. Get a piece of wire and solder those 2 pins closed. Just remember that now when you plug it in, everything will be powered even if it shows off. Always unplug when done testing.
Now go back to the amp board and look for the 3 wire connector, CN501. The center wire is ground so I need you to attach your DMM gnd probe to this connection. Make it a good firm connection so you don't have to hold it there and it won't fall off.
Set your DMM to DC voltage, plug in receiver and go to where you removed Q5405 and Q5406. Test on the collector pad of each and see if you have your B+ and B-. let me know what you get.

Are these through hole or SM?

Through hole. The original calls for 130mA, the replacements are 200mA.
