The unit would start up, ask me to wait for about 15 seconds and then shut down. I checked the finals and one of the two transistors was bad (D2390).
I removed the two transistors in the channel and it stays on. Didn't check it with audio yet, but I assume that's good now.
This has the same transistors as the Pioneer which I'm kicking myself now for not ordering spares, but that lead me to diagnose the three remaining receivers.

I'll check all the resistors and (zener) diodes on that channel. Fortunately I can compare them to another channel. Are there any I should pay special attention to?

I am having a problem finding a manual for this model which is why I have not responded yet. Not sure if I will have success so we may have to use the 2 to diagnosis both. If this one now works both audio and video with those fets clipped out, you may want to try swapping boards from the other one to see which board is causing the no audio/video. Like maybe start with the HDMI board.

That's fine with me. This model is a lot easier to swap boards than the Onkyo. I'll start that tonight after I confirm I have audio/video on this unit.

Ok, for surround right you want to check:
R5419 and R5421, 0.47 ohm, you have to lift 1 leg to test because parallel. R5420 and R5422, 0.47 ohm, "same as above" ZD5402 and ZD5404 D5403 and D5405 Q5404, Q5410,Q5402 and Q5404 R5415 and R5416, 5.6 kohm R5417 and R5418, 4.7 ohm

Yes, it is the SR channel, forgot to mention that earlier. I'll take a look tonight.
Thank you.

It is in the title. I was just double checking.

I don't know what's different, but now the unit won't stay powered on. All I did was plug it in - it tries to power on without pushing the power button (different from the other unit) and then powers off after about 5 seconds.
Yesterday it would stay powered on.
I hadn't done anything to the unit since yesterday. After I saw this I pulled out the HDMI board and tried it in the other unit. I did not try the other HDMI board in this unit.

You need to check the list of parts I gave you above. A failed part, even with those FET's clipped can put some voltage on the output line and will cause it to shut down.

Ok, multiple parts are bad. Still need to check R5419/R5421 and R5420/R5422

Other components R5410 - 719 Ohms - Was near a scorched component R5405 - 1143 Ohms - Was near a scorched component Q5403 - Reads ~1100 whereas other channels read ~910 - also scorched

Start removing bad parts. After bad parts are removed try turning it on again and see what happens.

I won't be able to do much more tonight. Remote is programmed though.
Hopefully I'll have more time tomorrow.
