Ill think the new ext is based on the Barco int, who looks a lot like the Sony int, i have experimented with that one in the Marquee, and not seen any improvement over the Marquee int, but back then i was running MP mods, wich never really worked well. Im happy with the Moome i got as ilustrated above, as my Marquee is running these days.

Hi Stridvognen,
So what do you think should I go for that new one? An internal one should be a cleaner installation but the question is do i find one.
Regards,
Ron.

I would go for a new int. Ask Moome if he have one, think i seen he had a discount on those not so long ago, just contact him directly, and ill guess you can buy one for 220$ if he have more, or try ask him how the HDMI 2.0 card is going, if its going to come out or not, ill think not, as i very much doubt there is any sales left in CRT.

For Gjaki,
Just a small question since the video chain is now super high bandwidth, how come that I see a difference in sharpness from the internal menus (I mean the green onces) when I go from 1080p to 1080i. those menus don't go through the Moome.
Would there still be an issue with my projector somewhere else?
regards,
Ron.

For stridsvognen, I asked Moome and he has some internal cards but he said to order trough curtpalme. On their site they are 340$ against 280$ for the new external. I have attached the document from moome with the specs

The OSD lines have their own preamplifiers with (much) less bandwidth that of the normal video path, at higher scanrates the OSD will look less sharp, that is the way it should be.

Ill think the EXT dac is also pointed to the 7-8" low end projectors, like Barco 808 and alike that did not have internal slot, and there was the int alternatives for NEC Sony and Marquee with better specs in the last generations. Yes they did, on a Barco the internal MOOME takes the place of PORT3 RGB card, which most Barcos have.

And the Barco card is not a direct plug and play like the other alternatives, where you just replace a RGBHV card and wola you have HDMI input.

Not that much later, its in the 808, and the 708.
And the rest is rubish, it most certainly is plug and play, you just take out the PORT3 card, replace it with the Barco HDMI, and wola, you have 4x HDMI 1.4 inputs. Straight up. No stuffing around, it works that easy.

the ext moome card came out many years before he made the Barco int card. And by plug and play i mean the NEC SONY and Marquee cards are slide in cards, no cables or extention needet. The Barco int card looks like a exact copy of the Sony card, so im sure it have quite a nice potential to it, but as it only fits in the Barco its not a option to use that one. I prefer the Mrquee moome card with the 3 seperate output buffers, and no 3D stuff on board.

There is one cable to connect, which you unplug from the PORT3 card anyway so it is allready there and takes less than 5 seconds to connect. It couldnt really be much easier, i bought 2 when they launched and theyre exceptionally good for the price they were. Prior to that i was using an external MOOME box which was only marginally better than a HD Fury 3, and probably not quite as good as a HD Fury 4 ( albeit not by much )

Prior to that i was using an external MOOME box which was only marginally better than a HD Fury 3, and probably not quite as good as a HD Fury 4 ( albeit not by much ) The HD fury 3 and 4 performs very identical bandwidth wise, and by the look of it have a edge over the moome ext, however for Gabors Marquee mods who is capable of handeling high bandwidth, non of these DAC boards are really interesting, the limitations in all the dac cards/ filters makes absolute sense in standard projectors, snd like with the Barco and Sony the peaking in the videochain is a challenge, as im sure if you run those with a very agressive signal like i do right out of the dac, they will be terrible overpeaked and distorted, thats where i find the capabilities of the Marquee neckboard to be in its own class, specially when removing the filter and peaking on the input, it behaves super linear with no visible distortion on the tube. So for this project the int Marquee moome card is the ultimate solution in my world. Ill guess most Moome cards, the barco int as well roles off around 100-120Mhz pixel clock, and if the SMPTE looks to do better its related to peaking in the video chain.

Hi All,
Last weekend I ordered the new Marquee internal card with 14bit DAC from curt's site
Let's hope that this one is working better.
Then I would need also a new Blue-ray player because up to now I used the one in my internet provider box. Since we're not going to need any gamma correction I can choose a simple one.
I would need a model with analog out since my amplifier has only optical in and cannot use the better audio formats on a BD.
For Gjaki,
I would need to modify the cabling a bit on my VIM since it was setup to use with an external box.
regards,
Ron.

Thanks Gabor,
I guess I have to solder new coaxial connectors on the VIM internally and maybe two BNC for the sync signals. In that case I could still connect a normal VGA output if I want.
But I wait for your pictures.
What kind of player do you use?
Regards,
Ron.
