HDMI video works perfectly as does the GUI. No sound from tuner, internet tuner or HDMI have not yet tried analog inputs. No audio from Direct or Pure Direct mode either. If I go to Setup/General/Information/Firmware I have a numeric value for Version but beneath that the entry for -DTS Version has all zero's. If I go into Version Display Mode by holding Status and Dimmer while powering on (page 133 SM) I get FIRM ERR but after that everything appears good except #4 DSP 1/2/3/4 ROM: those are all zero's as well. Seems the DSP's are not functioning how can I use the SM to locate the source of the problem ?
I have the service manual stored locally is there a place here to upload it ?

Will it allow you to check protection history?

I'm sure it will and will have a look shortly for you. Are you expecting something there that's related ?

I'm sure it will and will have a look shortly for you. Are you expecting something there that's related ? I'm just thinking there may be a power issue feeding the DSP and just wanted to be sure there were no protect errors. Give me some time to look over these schematics as I dont have time right now and I will get back to you.

On pages 14,15,16 and 17 you can see that each of the 4 DSP's need 1.1v and 3.3v. DSP's 1,2 and 3,4 get their supply from different sources. So you need to verify these voltages somewhere near each DSP. The schematics can help find locations to test.

Voltages measured and present at pins 45 and 176 of all four dsp ic's although the 3.3v is measured as 3.2v

Have you done any firmware updates or factory restore?

Originally the value in the menu for Firmware version was blank and below it the DTS version was 0.00.00.00 Then the receiver asked if I wanted to update Auro-3d and I said yes and after that I had a proper Firmware version but the DTS version was still zero's.
I've done a User reset but not a Factory reset, was a little afraid it would lock up the unit for good. Do you think I should try it ?

Only thing the unit has trouble with are things having to do with audio, like running test tones. Won't move off of left speaker (first in line) and no audio through the speaker of course.

Then first I would write down the current firmware version so you have it. Then I would do "setup", "general", "firmware", "check for update". If update is not needed it will say so. It you do an update, after it is done check the firmware version to see if it is different and if the zeros are gone.
