Sorry for taking so long to reply, it has been a very hectic couple of days.
To answer your question, I am using HDMI. My television is connected to the receiver via HDMI and I also have a Playstation 3 (HDMI 3), DirecTV receiver (HDMI 1) and on occasion and laptop connected via HDMI (HDMI 2). I also have a Nintendo Wii connected to the receiver via a component video input and stereo audio input (labeled DVD).

Well I have not found any confirmed repair for the Pioneer 1020. Unfortunately a fix may never be available since the value of the receiver is not there unless someone was willing to spend the money in having the problem searched out and verified. On the first unit, this could cost more then what the receiver is worth so a fix may never be known.

Pioneer Elite VSX 94TXH, have the same freezing locking up issue as detailed by other posters. I've been coping with this for the past two years by using the unplugging method. I spoke with Pioneer customer service, the rep I spoke with claimed he owned a 94TXH and had not experienced this problem. Claimed he had taken it in and had the firmware updates performed. He indicated he felt my "Freezing" problem was probably related to not having had the firmware updated. From everything I've read on the net regarding this apparently common "Freezing" problem it would not appear to be firmware related. I'd prefer to obtain a reasonable service repair if possible, otherwise I'm going to dump it and move on. Any information regarding an appropriate fix would be appreciated. Thanks

There is no confirmed fix for the 91txh freezing. The confirmed fix is for the 92/94txh.

I made a mistake last week when I asked about the 91txh. I have the 92. Mine is also freezing and randomly shutting off and in by itself.

Anyone have any information on this? I'm having "the common problem" (as it appears to be referred to as) and would love info on how to fix/alleviate/mitigate it.
email is mjwinberry [at] gmail [dot] com
