I am having the same problem with a vsx-1020. IF a known fix is available for other models, I'd like to try it on my model if at all possible. Please contact me by email: davoid [at] gmail [dot] com
Thanks!

Please contact me by email: davoid [at] gmail [dot] com Thanks! I am not aware of a confirmed freezing fix for the 1020. Some believe it may be the HDMI board as it would stop freezing with no HDMI connection but that is about all I have heard of.

The 922 is a different receiver. This repair is not for it.

I have a pioneer vsx-94txh receiver and while in HMG mode, after playing for a while, it constantly freezes and the display shows Connection Down. Switching to a different mode and switching back seems to fix it temporarily until it freezes again. Does anyone know how to fix this issue? The unit's firmware is 3.5.16.6650. Thanks!

Have you tried a different network cable? Or try rebooting your router.

I just replaced the cable and rebooted the router. I'll keep it running to see if the network connection stays on or not. Thanks!

That seems not to have fixed it. The connection went down again. Any suggestion?

I hate to condemn the receiver without having tested it at another location just to rule out that your internet signal is not dropping out just for a second or 2 causing the loss. I have never heard of this happening on this model. Has your receiver ever had the freeze fix?

The receiver is connected to the same router that my laptop and Fios receiver are connected to. When I'm watching TV either thru Fios receiver or video streaming thru laptop, there is no loss of network signal. Since purchase, the receiver has not had any service done to it. Thanks!

Did it previously work ok or is this the first you have tried using HMG?

It always worked fine. Just recently started doing this.

Well if your HMG did work fine and now there are problems then something did change. And if the problem is truly in the receiver and not the network then the first thing that comes to mind is the freeze fix. Even though you are not experiencing the freezing as of yet I have seen other problems arise that were solved by the freeze fix. But of course at this point it would be a gamble as to whether it will fix this problem of not.
I looked over the network section schematics and there are not really many components involved. Dirty contacts in the connection ports could be a possibility. I would take the Cat 5 plug end on both sides of the cable and spray some WD40 on the contacts and push them in and out of the connectors a bunch of times to clean off the contact points and then see if it makes any difference.

Thanks for the reply! Cleaned the cable (both ends), the router port, and the receiver network port. After running for about 2 hours, it lost network signal again and the display shows connecting...

The only other thing that comes to mind without getting into board repairs is a master reset. But you will loose all your settings doing this and would have to set it up again.
