When plugged in there is a flashing red LED. If I press the power button, I can hear a relay click, but that's all. The LED just keeps flashing red.

I am attempting to located the proper documents to assist. While I am doing this I would like you to try something. Press and hold the "CD and standby/on" buttons and see if the display says anything.

Should be able to start troubleshooting tomorrow. If you feel like doing a little hunting tonight you can skip ahead to all the output transistors and test them for shorts between the legs. DMM on diode scale, test 1 at a time looking for a close to short reading between any of the 3 legs. Then test the next one and so on.
There are 14 all together, 7 being 1 number and the other 7 being another number. All mounted on the large heat sink. You can compare same number results looking for 1 or more that may be different then the majority. See you tomorrow.

Going to grab some lunch and then get to those transistors.

Ok, measured all 14 transistors. The only two that seemed abnormal were #5 and #6. Made 3 Measurements, +Probe on B/-Probe on C, + on B/-On E, + on C/- on E
Odd Transistors BC=~720 BE=~720 CE=~1800+ kept creeping up for 30+ seconds
Even Transistors BC=1500+ Kept creeping up BE=~870 CE=~1432
#5 BC=0 BE=O CE=overload
#6 BC=0 BE=O CE=0

Ok, 5 and 6 are blown. They will have to be removed. Can you give me their location id off the board?

Ok, that is the front right channel. I would guess you have to pull that heat sink out to remove those 2 parts. Let me know when they are removed and there are some other parts we will have to test for damage.

Does this board have any notifications so that I can get an email when you respond? Unfortunately this forum only sends notifications once a day. The admin said they may look into that upgrade at a later date depending on forum sucess. SO tell your friends and relatives about this site. There are many subjects that questions can be asked.

Ok, I just clipped the leads because I realized I only have a 15W soldering iron in the house and that's not going to cut it for desoldering them. I'll pick up another iron tomorrow.

Did you try turning it on again after you clipped the legs?

No, should I? I'll reconnect everything and get it ready.
