There is someone on eBay who offers to repair the HDMI board for $75. They include the daughterboard that was present on one of my two units as part of the repair. I just ordered a new re work station with a preheater. sra-solder.com/product.php/7174/1/aoyue_866/09bf47d38b03d5a7f100c9640a377518Working on the Yammy is proving to be a pain with out a pre heated board. Also if I get any more units that need re balling it will make things very easy with less heat. Nashou

That's a lot cheaper than I was expecting. That would have been great for Xbox 360 and PS3 reflows.

That's a lot cheaper than I was expecting. That would have been great for Xbox 360 and PS3 reflows. It is very very inexpensive. I wanted a hot air bath type but then If need to find a board cradle, and the arm for my hot air gun. This has it all. I love my Aoyue 968 Re work station. So now I'll have this as well. Which I think will get more use. Maybe I'll sell the 968. Nashou

Alright! Now we have some to ship boards to that have BGA problems, lol. I want to get a practice board and remove the BGA and re flow it frm scratch. I ahve been watching videos on it and some of these guys are hacks but it works, even as sloppy as they do it. That Yammy is the reason I am getting this. I also ordered some QuikChip smd remover set and some tweezers . I'll do it for less than 75 bucks too!!! Nashou

Whir kin i git me one of them thar resto-wrants sose'n I kin affird toyz? lol Seriously....nice setup bro! Did you buy solder paste at the same time or do you already have some? The reflow oven would be the cats patootie to own but not for a grand! I could see it maybe if I did this for a living but alas, I'm just a poor mechanic who loves electronics for a hobby. lol
And hell YEAH that's a decent price... but you realize we're all gonna be using you as the quality guinea pig before we spring for our own right? ;-)

Picked up an Insignia 42P3D (or sumthin like that). Had to replace the IPM's...Mac helped me with that project too. (Thanks again Mac!) Those IPM's SUCK to remove and of course being my first time I did it the hard way. I still have the 'speckling' problem and some mal-discharge but it works pretty darn good....good nuff for the bedroom. Paid $35 for it and $16 each for the IPM's. No remote but the cable box remote works(ish). I've shoved 1080p through it a couple times but those were accidents.

Nice machine. How do the receivers look? Cosmetically great!! A bent grill here and there but no big deal. I'll look at the Pioneer VSX 822 that has a no power sticker on it first. Nashou

I'm still waiting for the Onkyo TX-NR708 to arrive I won on fleabay. The seller is literally 15 minutes away but he refused to meet me somewhere of his choosing so I had to pay $21 shipping and wait a week to get it. Talked about pissed. That's still better than the BD210 BR player I won...I think the shipper sent it via covered wagon from upstate NY...over two weeks for that but it should be here today. I have a PS3 and PS4 but I want this because it does 2D and 3D conversion but more importantly outputs in checkerboard format...the only thing my HL67A750 Samsung tv understands for 3D. I still have to find an emitter at an insanely low price (I just want to play around with the Sammy's 3D so not gonna spend much). Anyway...nice toys Nash!
