I have the "hiss" sound too on my 909, the SMPS is doing it. My spare one don't. Some does, some don't ; but nothing to worry about. During stand by?

I replaced c223 and C253 like my controller board. No fix. I bought a stabilized power supply, tomorrow will be deliver. So I can start measures that you asked. Where's the point that I can put the power? What's the correct voltage? Little notice: in stand by I listen a "hiss". I had never listened due the ambient noise but in the silence he can be heard clearly.

I tried to insert the caps as you suggest but the modify has no effect. Both electrolytics fit in back of the board. I have only measure voltage with economic multimeter but I need to know all test points. However, unfortunately, I don't own an oscilloscope.

Ok Mean time I put a missed cap in C121 (1u 50v). I hope that's no error. Then I found two tantalium caps in back of my boards. I must to put both in stefano's board? Remember: I've only electrolytic caps at moment.

Ok I will see at back of my controller board and I'll put a cap in stefano's board. Then I'll write the result here.

This controller have also difficult with remote control π I can not able to use it. Only fixed remote for power on only. Could be a symptom of supply issue?

Well checked diagnostic board, no problem. I noticed some differences between mine controller and Stefano's (look red points). At mine there are two different capacitors and one that's absent in the Stefano's one.

... and I will check if diagnostic board show something. Now in my home there's only the tray (with all board and controller) of Stefano's projector. When this tray was in his home not show error in diagnostic board if I remember well.

Hi Dummyload I'm very happy that you are well π I must to read with attention your reply and those of Mastertech. Tomorrow I will read the service about supply of controller.

I tried to disconnect cable first from J572 (Horizontal convergence) and wavy lines remain (also video noise). Then I reconnected cable J572 and disconnect J571 (vertical convergence) and wavy lines and video noise completely disappered. So the issue is surely in vertical convergence circuit, in some element in common because the wavy lines appear for all three colors.

Where are the test points?

Just fixed the problem of burn SR2 resistor. I redo the R410+C410 modify. Now we try to fix wavy lines. Any suggestions?

I remember having the same problem with the SR2 security resistor in my CineMax. Dummyload in august 2015 wrote that the problem was caused precisely by the bad modification of the R50 resistor in the controller board. repairalmostanything.com/post/4752/thread
