I just watched a youtube video and believe that V49 is not an error code. It's actually the last stored Volume level, that goes up to V80.

During Standby mode, simultaneously press and hold the “TUNE ↓” and “MULTI-ZONE ON/OFF” keys for 5 seconds. Then use [↓] : TUNE key and [↑] : TUNE key to see the history of detected faults.

Aye that's the plan.I might get a chance to test them tonight, working on the Pioneer vsx-921 at the moment.Has a fricking intermittent issue, when once a week or two it will shut itself off with the hdmi light flashing.DC protection circuit kicks in. Amp section is fine, done some other test and now I'm on 99% sure that on of the +/- 12V or +/- 5V regulators is faulty.

Looks like this design by Klipsch (Promedia 2.1 new version), uses an almost identical smps design, even uses what looks like the same smps module! Do you have the SM for this Klipsh sub?

Hi,
Looking for service manual or explanation of what this error code means? This is my first Canton's unit, not sure where to start from?
Thanks in advance.

I've seen this before.I've purchased this sub off ebay and I think, the light on the back would turn from red to green but could not hear speaker relay. Was able to fix it by replacing zener diode and IR2153 IC.

VSX-421 same issue.Remove amp board and check all emitter resistors of the final transistors (0.47 Ohm, connected in parallel) Start with front channels. If you find faulty resistors, say of the front left channel, also check Base resistors (100 Ohm) of the finals. In my case, I've also replaced them too, I believe they're 2sb1560 and 2sd2390.More likely you need to do the same because emitter resistors don't get faulty just like that
