Youre getting good at this

What do you want the higher scanrate for? The scanrate limit on the CineMAX is allready very high.

That was the focus board i thought Mike was saying they had to redesign, the heatsink on those is quite different for later versions. The whole board is longer too.
I have two convergence boards here that both look the same, one from a 2001 CineMAX, and the other from a 2005 BR909. R7631371 is fine provided its not faulty, i have one here that works perfectly.

I'll let someone else answer your controller question. So convergence works good.but the grid has an issue you call "fry" whatever that is, lol. Is this same issue noticeable in the video playing onscreen? Mine gets very hot too.

For an apparently "all digital convergence" projector, they sure have a hell of a lot of analog trim pots to adjust various geometry settings...

Does the quad buzz or make any noise?
There really is not that many settings at all in these, a lot for a Barco i spose.

First off, if you havent allready, zero the dynamic astig settings AND and digital focus settings, then set them as good as they get mechanically.
Both those can and do cause jittering and jumping as well as noise on these machines.

Ill say it again, the noise and grid movement may not be the convergence board...

Well I guess you are reading to test it out. Just remember, adjusting the convergence is the last thing you want to do to move the grid around. try to get all manual settings as close as you possibly can, then do the same with geometry and lastly with convergence, hopefully using as little of adjustment as possible. When trying to match up outer lines see if linearity, outer bow or pin or what ever will get it closer before going into convergence. The convergence section is one of the most straining sections in a projector. Using as little as possible is very beneficial. Problem with the Barco geometry and convergence is its like doing an NEC but only using point convergence. The red and blue have only two options, coarse and fine. The whole lot is done the same as point convergence on the NECs, but fine adjust is still way too coarse. Its crude, its inaccurate, and its got nothing on the NECs. Moving the coarse convergence in the middle is the same as going to raster shift. It takes a lot of work to get it even close to perfect, even when you adjust every manual setting perfectly! There are manual settings in a number of places through the set, and these analog adjustments are probably the cause of the warmup drift that you just dont see with an NEC.

Tell me, does your quad buzz or squeal with changes in brightness??
Mine did that and i had the grid lines moving all over the place, without seeing yours i dont know if it is simular or not.

All sounds very technical, but promising none the less

Hi, I have an idea for a device which should be able to reduce lag to two lines max. I've put together a block diagram which shows all functional elements needed. Is there any way of uploading/including an image into a post? There's an "Add Attachment" button but it doesn't do anything and I don't want to use any external picture hoster... Regards, barclay66 That would be excellent if it can be done

29 lines might almost be acceptable.

Ok, ive bought an XRGB3 because they claim a 2ms lag when line doubling. Im not sure how many scan lines that will be at 60Hz, but should be ok.
