Do you want to try to get both parts from the same place or does it matter? I know shipping costs help.

And?....don't leave a brother hangin! So you lucked out and didn't have to change out IPM's huh? (So far). Those are a special treat. Like Mac said earlier, drawings are hard to find so to get part numbers off the IPM's you have to remove it from the board first but the heatsink screws go through the IPM, and the heads are under the chip, and the chip is soldered in. Muaahaaaaahaaaa! Without having any drawings ya got no p/n so can't order parts until ya take the dang thing off the board. Did em both on a 42" Insignia I snagged a couple years ago for $35. I think I might have already mentioned this before tho. I need a flash jig to update the firmware to fix the sparklies and mal discharge but I'm not putting any more $ into it. Anyone have one I can borrow? LG made a lot of the plasma chassis for different manufacturers didn't they?

Waiting for parts still. These are all samsung boards. I found the IPM numbers somewhere but i forgot to write them down. They were STK 517 918' 917's or something but no schematics were found for them for me to check the pins

Crap!! I wish I had that earlier!!!! Both are bad. Have to order new ones. Should I order from Ebay China or pay more for the USA versions.
Damn it!!! I also hear its best to change all chips on all board so should I order the chips for the X board or just swing it with these and see how it goes?
Also Just checked and the other parts middle pins show short to the STK chips read points in that paper. so I now wonder if those diodes are bad or not. I'll remove the STK's and find out. or do I remove the Diodes to see if the STK's are good?

Well you still don't even know if you have blown buffer boards. So really, how far do you want to go? If you don't mind spending the money even if the task is a failure then go for it. As far as your questions, let us know which way you decide, lol. There is no correct answer.

Ok I found this video to test the buffer boards the ones with the angles look just like mine. And no shorts from the test. So i guess I'll remove two of the diodes that I would think correspond to one chip and then test that chip to see if they are bad out of circuit. if they are good I just spent money on parts I won't need Oh well its all in the goal of learning so I am ok with it.
