Usually the BGA ICs have the solder ball issues.

Sorry about the download link(did not download it myself). This is the first, that I have seen Elektrotanya posting a user manual.
I also have an Epson 2045 to repair as well. Sometimes there is no HDMI signal, but the menu works.

Thank you for that update. I believe(it's been a while since I repaired a similar issue), but the original relay is underrated, no? That is one of the reasons, that we change them. On one of the receivers(Pioneer, if I remember correctly), I have found (a three years old receiver) a relay, that had a completely corroded interior. That relay was a sealed type as well. I have pictures on badcapsforum.

Some receivers require to do the update twice. At least, that way it was for me, on some of the newer receivers.

I would start with the final transistors on the heatsink. When you find shorted transistors(usually a pair of them), I would check all the parts at the channel, to find everything that is blown. Than replace all the blown parts and measure them again, to be sure that you did not miss something. It is a good idea, to parallel check with another channel, that has the same configuration(left channel has issues, then compare it with the right channel). Usually I work only on Onkyo receivers, so I'm not familiar with Pioneers. On some Onkyos, there is an idle current adjustment as well, that should be done(if there is a small pot at each channel, than that has to done as well).

DC protection, it means that you have shorted(high current) final transistors(most likely, other components are affected as well). If you keep resetting, sometimes things blow up.

When some transistors are blown, I go over on that channel and inspect each component before and after the repair, to make sure that everything is OK, I parallel measure with a similar channel. Tj is right, 100% sure there are other blown components there.

There are also RCA inputs.

I don't even ask for the money, because I can't prove anything.

Recently I have purchased from two separate sources HDMI chips, and none of them worked.

As Tj said, buy original boards, from Ebay and use those ICs.

Just to close this tread, I have purchased another board and the receiver works great. Thanks Todd.

Once I have used a Pioneer receiver, with a Philips Bluetooth adapter as an amp.
